Rudy Jaramillo Hits And Pitches Baycats To 11-1 Victory
An impressive two-way performance from Rudy Jaramillo led the Baycats to a 11-1 win on Sunday over Preston, as Jaramillo came up huge at the dish and on the mound.
Jaramillo racked up four RBIs on four hits singling in the second, third, and fifth innings and doubling in the sixth.
Jaramillo kept contact to a minimum on the mound, striking out nine Preston batters. He gave up just five hits over seven shutout innings.
The Baycats’ bats came to life in the sixth inning. Preston had no answer as they scored six runs scoring on a two-run double by Ryan Darcy, an RBI single by Andy Medew, and a three-run double by Jaramillo.
The Pirate’s pitcher, Hashaguchi, ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
The game was never in doubt after the third, as the Baycats scored one run on an RBI double by Medew before another two in the fifth and eighth to supplement their big sixth inning.
The Baycats take on Sandringham this Tuesday 25/10 6:00pm at Melbourne Ballpark in another important game for both sides.
